Leading contract glazing specialist, GG Glass, has launched a Midlands branch following the recent acquisition of established local firm, Commercial Aluminium Services.
GG Glass will deliver commercial glazing and contracting works across the region whilst Commercial Aluminium Services will retain a focus on the manufacture and installation of architectural aluminium shop front entrance solutions.
Paul Pearce will oversee the management of both businesses. He explained: “There is a clear gap in the local market for a professional commercial glazing businesses. Acquiring Commercial Aluminium Services as a specialist service provider sits perfectly with the wider contracting business allowing GG Glass to provide a complete commercial glazing solution throughout the Midlands.
“GG Glass is a leading operator within its field and this latest development ensures that they can establish a firm foothold in the Midlands.”
The firm has invested over £300,000 in the contracting arm of the business which officially launched last month. A new fleet, machinery and kit ensures that all services can be delivered in house, retaining the firms exacting standards and expert delivery.
Paul continued: “We are already the glazing contractor of choice for many leading brands in the Midlands such as Iceland, Greggs and Costa Coffee. We’re now looking forward to partnering with more retail operators, contractors and architects, operating across a complete range of sectors.”
GG Glass Midlands is based in Vauxhall, Birmingham, in a 7000 sq ft depot that sits adjacent to the existing Commercial Aluminium Services base (also at 7000 sq ft). The GG Glass contracting arm comprises a team of 10 with plans to grow this to 15 in the coming 12 months.
Ray Moss, Director at GG Glass commented: “The launch of the Midlands Contracting arm is the next natural step for us following the acquisition of Commercial Aluminium services. Not only are we now able to offer a total glazing service in the Midlands but we can guarantee complete geographical coverage which is incredibly important for the business moving forward.”
