Hull Paragon Interchange is an integrated rail and bus station in the city centre of Kingston upon Hull, ideally located to provide access to the city’s many fantastic amenities, including popular attractions like the St Stephen’s shopping centre, The Deep and Hull Marina.
Put forward by main contractor CPMS, the proposal was to create four terrace-style retail units along with the development of the railway station to feature a new waiting area, customer service desk and WCs to accompany the recently-developed ticket office.
This retail development is a significant part of TransPennine Express’s £1.4 million upgrade to the station and was to ensure an impressive welcome to visitors heading to the city for events as part of Hull UK City of Culture 2017.
Ranging from 120 to 132 sq. m., the units’ shopfronts possess both rear and front full height pop out displays. They were constructed to a high specification, with a single-glazed structural-glazed system that incorporated the following:
- 5mm thick, clear, heat-soaked and toughened three-metre high-safety glass panels
- Glazed into bespoke folded stainless steel channels and powder-coated pressings
- Automatic aluminium swing entrance doors in an aluminium cladded/powder-coated feature goalposts
The units can be opened up to create larger accommodation if required.
Agents have confirmed they have already pre-let a unit to Starbucks and have received strong interest in the remaining space.
