Following on from our article in February, GG Glass & Glazing is delighted to announce that four of our team members completed the 2018 Virgin London Marathon on 22nd April.
In doing so, Sam Grant, Terry Grant, Daniel Grant and Daniel Ward raised over £8,000 for Sense, who are a national organisation that help children, young people and adults with complex communication needs to be understood, connected and valued.
The charity’s mission is to ensure that no one that struggles with these issues is left isolated and unable to fulfil their full potential, so the money will go to a fantastic cause. Having already donated more than £4,000 after running last year’s race, it is also not the first time that Sam has ran for them, and likely will not be the last!
Team GG completed the marathon in the following times:
- Sam Grant – 5:00
- Terry Grant – 5:37
- Daniel Grant – 6:17
- Daniel Ward – 6:17
These figures are very impressive, particularly considering that the event was officially the hottest London Marathon on record. Temperatures hit a massive 24.1°C, although experts warned runners that it could have been even warmer on the actual course as a result of the heat that would have been absorbed by the roads from competitors. This caused organisers to on average distribute four-and-a-half litres of water per person, which is more than any other mass participation event in the world.
GG Glass & Glazing would like to thank everyone for their extremely kind and generous donations. Sam, Terry, Daniel G and Daniel W all greatly appreciate it, as do the company as a whole.
